Summary
The Grenfell Tower Inquiry published its Phase 2 Report into the circumstances leading up to and surrounding the fire at Grenfell Tower on 14th June 2017, which resulted in the deaths of 72 people. The report includes almost 60 recommendations, many of which are focused on the construction industry. This course covers the fundamentals of fire safety and the underpinning knowledge that is required for duty holders, responsible persons to manage fire safety during construction and after handover as per HSG 168, CDM 2015 and JCOP 9th edition.
The course will cover fire safety legislation for construction, buildings and demonstrate how duty holders, managers can comply as well as apply best practice to ensure a positive fire safety culture during construction and after transition to occupation.

Objectives
By the end of the course you will be able to:
• Understand how to comply with the requirements of CDM, HSG168 and the Fire Prevention on Construction Site Code of Practice 9th edition.
• Identify and implement fire prevention and protection in buildings and on construction sites.
• Understand and assess the risks associated with Higher risk projects including how to liaise with the Fire Service to mitigate those risks.
• Demonstrate how to comply with Regulation 38 to ensure persons responsible for buildings have all the information to enable them to discharge their duties.
