Circular Economy Showcase: Spotlight on the Dexus Waterfront Brisbane
$22.00
Description
CIOB’s president for 2024/25, Michael Kagioglou has highlighted the importance of aligning the construction sector with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as his presidential focus. The shift to a circular economy is crucial to achieving the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals because current patterns of production and consumption are unsustainable in the long term. Sustainable Development Goal 12 aims to ensure that we shift to more sustainable patterns of production and consumption. In the context of the construction industry, this goal emphasises using resources efficiently and minimising waste through the adoption of circular principles. This joint CPD between CIBSE and CIOB focuses on the Dexus Waterfront project in Brisbane as a case study. The project is a AUD2.5bn urban regeneration initiative with sustainable development and innovative design at its heart, and it is set to reshape the city’s skyline. The speakers are varied and give insight from different stakeholder perspectives.
